EDW 4/20
more progress on the beach matte painting. I think I would like to add a mystical or sci fi aspect to it, as well as creating more depth.

EDW 4/19
Here are the layers all together for my motion composite. The trees are the only photographs I painted all of the rest. I like the lighting effect it has. The next step is to bring it into After Effects

EDW 4/13
So here is the plan/goal for this week.
I would like to finish up this matte painting of a beach I started
Next I would like to take some photos in after effects and create "motion" by moving the different planes at different speeds. Ideally I would like the tree image to move the most and the background sunset to move the least.
And finally I will be using the Image Projection Mapping tutorial to fake the 3 Dimensionality of the Brooklyn Bridge

Project Pipeline 4/13
I was having some trouble trying to define the muscles in MudBox, but once I stopped treating it like a computerized object, and began working with it the same way I did when I used actual clay to sculpt, it became much easier.

Project Pipeline 4/12
Here is a study done on tiger muscle indentations, and bulged out areas. I took red and outlined the areas in two different images so they could be easily identified. I also used statues because the muscular nature is more exaggerated.

Project Pipeline 4/6
fleshed out version of the tiger! I used mudbox for sculpting and various anatomy pictures to get the muscle structure correct
4/5 EDW
more progress! I've added to the under painting, I've had to combine a lot of layers for space and sanity.

EDW 3/28
I've been trying a little digital painting. My goal is to make a semi-realistic self portrait using the painting tools in photoshop. So far I have a detailed under painting. Here is the progress!

EDW 3/26
Just tried a little matte painting, I wanted to create ruins on a cliff over-looking the ocean. I'm going to work on :
- adding fog, - fixing cliff edges, -fixing God rays, - maybe adding some smaller details, a few trees and a ship perhaps? This is only 20 layers, so there's room for more!

EDW March 22
Today I worked on compositing a 3d tree into a photo, here is my original photo courtesy of freefoto.com
Here is the finsihed product. I added a 3D paint effects tree and tried to change the environment slightly by adding a different skyline and cloud cover. Not too bad for my first one

EDW Spring 2011
This blog will revolve around my progress in two of my classes: Environment Digital Workshop and Project Pipeline.
This quarter for EDW I will be focusing on compositing, and sculpting using Mud Box Software.
For Project Pipeline I will be modeling, texturing, and rigging a quadruped.
